News of the fascist 'coup d'état' in Spain spread rapidly. With the slogan "Today in Spain, tomorrow in Italy" on their lips, Italian anti-fascists headed to Spain.

When Berneri arrived he was immediately offered a position in the Council of the Economy, but he refused as soon as he realized he was dealing with a sort of ministry. Berneri instead hosted a rally before 100,000 people in Plaza de los Toros, in Barcelona, bringing with him the greetings of the Italian anarchists & their solidarity with the Catalan revolution.

Also in Barcelona, the constructive work of the libertarian revolution is set up gradually; the transport sector & particularly the trams of Barcelona are collectivized by the C.N.T. They are followed by other public services, part of the sector of the distribution & provisioning, then by many industries, including the Hispano-Suiza automobile factories.

Francesco Barbieri, the Italian antifascist & anarchist militant, slipping back into Spain, reaches Barcelona today. Barbieri fought at the Huesca Front before illness forced him back to Barcelona in May 1937, where he was dragged from his home by Stalinists goons & murdered.

Two young black couples — Roger & Dorothy Malcom, George & Mae Murray Dorsey — were killed by a lynch mob at the Moore's Ford Bridge over the Appalachee River connecting Walton & Oconee Counties. The four were tied up & shot hundreds of times in broad daylight by unmasked men; murder weapons included rifles, shotguns, pistols & a machine gun. The Tuskegee Institute called it a "lynching."

The Coverup... Despite an intense investigation by FBI & GBI agents, the killers remain free. "The best people in town won't talk," said Georgia State Patrol Major William E.
